What You'll Learn

Students completing this lab will learn how to deploy a Windows Virtual Desktop solution in Azure, leveraging Azure Active Directory Domain Services.

  • We'll kick things off with an introduction and an explanation of what to expect, before diving head-first into what Windows Virtual Desktop is and how it works.

  • Next, you'll learn how to deploy and configure Azure AD Domain Services to support Windows Virtual Desktop.

  • Later, we'll update DNS on the domain services network, create an AD admin account, and then force the sync of password hashes from Azure AD to Azure Active Directory Domain Services.

  • With most of the prerequisite work complete, we'll setup the virtual network that will host our Windows Virtual Desktop deployment and connect the network to the Azure ADDS network.

  • After performing all of the prerequisite work to prepare for our deployment, we'll deploy Windows Virtual Desktop in Azure and configure FSLogix so you can host profile disks in an Azure File Share
