Learn How to Use the New AZ PowerShell Module to Deploy and Manage Virtual Machines in Microsoft Azure.
Learn How to Use the New AZ PowerShell Module to Deploy and Manage Virtual Machines in Microsoft Azure.
Azure virtual machines provide a fully configurable and flexible computing environment. This course will teach you how to perform the most common day-to-day tasks, using the the new Azure PowerShell AZ Module.
Featuring 29 different video lectures and detailed hands-on demonstrations, this course will teach you how to use AZ PowerShell to create a Windows Virtual Machine, how to create images and deploy VMs from them, how to create and attach data disks, resize VMs, perform basic management tasks, and leverage snapshots.
By the end of this course, you will have learned how to perform many day-to-day VM management tasks using the new Azure PowerShell AZ Module, exclusively. The skills you learn in this course will set you apart from many other IT professionals - since most IT professionals avoid PowerShell like the plague.
Students completing this lab will learn how to perform many day-to-day VM management tasks using the new Azure PowerShell AZ Module. We'll cover PowerShell installation, VM creation, imaging, snapshotting, resizing, and lots of other cool stuff.
Kick things off by learning how to install the AZ PowerShell module and hwo to sign in to Azure via PowerShell.
Next, you'll learn how to create a Windows virtual machine, using only Azure PowerShell. You'll also learn how to connect to the VM, using PowerShell.
You'll also learn how to prepare a VM for imaging, before learning how to take an image of a VM. You'll then learn how to create a new VM from the image.
We'll cover the creation of data disks with PowerShell and then the attachment and preparation of such disks.
Later in the course, you'll learn how to resize virtual machines, using AZ PowerShell.
Coming down the home stretch, you'll learn how to perform basic management tasks with PowerShell, like starting, stopping, restarting, and deleting VMs.
We'll wrap up with snapshots, where you'll learn how to create VM snapshots with PowerShell and how to create new VMs from snapshots.
